STAY AWAKE! A SPACE TO EXPLORE, SHUDDER AND MARVEL

What happens at nightfall? Who is up and about? How are we feeling, what are we thinking about? And how does the world around us change at night?

Kick off your shoes and dive into the darker side of life! Float amongst the stars, discover monsters from all around the world, plunge into quiet and loud night spaces. Design bright landscapes, collect dreams and nightmares, meet nocturnal animals, plants, and people. Look for your location in the universe on the globe, vote on secrets on our question board, dare to go through our ghost tunnel. In the middle of the exhibition, a giant bed full of scary arm pillows invites you to relax and take a break.

»Sleeping pillow«

Sat, 18 Feb, 11am–12.30pm

Grab a paintbrush and some stamps and paint your wildest pictures for a good night’s sleep on a blue pillowcase. The pillowcase is then ironed and filled with cotton wool. Ward off scary nightmares with your new fluffy pillow!

»Nightlight«

Sat, 18 Mar, 11am–12.30pm

Built a lamp using a solid wooden base, batteries, cables, a resistor, an LED, and a glass globe. The light shines through a glossy piece of paper placed inside the globe and pierced with little holes. Your lamp will shine bright in the darkest night.

»Nocturnal landscape«

Sat, 15 Apr, 11am–12.30pm

Draw various landscapes and figures on a transparent film. The film is then placed on a dark wooden panel. The drawings seem to disappear. Cut out a flashlight out of white paper and put it between the panel and the film. When you move it around, it lights up different parts of your drawing!
